JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Material Handler

Position: Full Time, Exempt

Location: Riverside

Manager: No

Reports to: Shift Supervisor

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Material Handler is accountable for ensuring that products of acceptable quality are properly packaged for shipping and storage. The handler is also responsible for keeping the manufacturing area supplied with raw materials and maintaining a steady flow of properly packaged and palletized finished products between the warehouse and manufacturing areas, conforming to customer requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Movement and preparation of all raw materials and finished products for manufacturing
• Assist technicians and inspector packers when needed
• Disposal of waste to proper containers and regrind products as required
• Prepare finished products for warehouse
• Maintain housekeeping and organization of the facility
• Recordkeeping and documentation for shipping and receiving
• Replace films on machines and tools as required
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Maintain and improve a safe working environment
• Participate in problem-solving and improvement teams
• Maintain proper amount of additives at machines (color, etc.)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• Forklift experience is a plus but can be trained on the job

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must have good vision and hearing
• Must be able to lift 55-60 lbs. at continuous intervals throughout the day
• Must have normal dexterity
• Must be able to stand for long periods
• Requires frequent bending, squatting, and twisting; ability to climb ladders
• Ability to pull finished products and 1000 lb. gaylords of material using a pallet jack
• Maintain a clean and safe work area free of obstacles, scrap, tools, etc.
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed
• Always use correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
