The Opportunity ...

This vital role involves managing raw materials, preparing CNC jobs, and overseeing inventory to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our CNC production processes. The Material Handler is crucial in maintaining workflow efficiency and supporting our production goals. The position provides a great opportunity for development within the department.

Raw Material Handling

  • Receive, inspect, and store raw materials according to company standards
  • Ensure accurate labeling and organization of materials in designated storage areas
  • Safely transport materials to and from the CNC production area


CNC Job Preparation

  • Prepare materials for CNC machining by following production schedule\
  • Use vertical and horizontal bandsaws to cut materials to required dimensions
  • Collaborate with CNC Supervisor to ensure the materials are ready for production
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining the CNC machines as needed


Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular stock checks
  • Record and report inventory discrepancies or shortages to the department manager
  • Support inventory and scrap control procedures to minimize waste and optimize resource utilization


Efficiency and Workflow Support

  • Work closely with CNC operators and production staff to maintain a steady flow of material
  • Identify and resolve material-related issues that could impact production timelines
  • Handle the safe disposal and recycling of aluminum and stainless waste
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance department efficiency
  • Ensure material preparation equipment is actively monitored and maintained


Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus
  • Previous experience in material handling, inventory management, or CNC operations preferred
  • Forklift experience is required
  • Experience in using basic measurement tools required
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • The ability to lift and transport heavy materials safely
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Suite and basic computer skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures diligently
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks
