Oregon Steel Mills LLC is seeking a Heat Treat Material Handler to safely handle and process steel plate in a heavy industrial setting. You will follow SOPs, perform physical labor on 12-hour rotating shifts, and operate cranes, forklifts, and cutting tools.

The role requires attention to safety, accurate data entry, and the ability to plan ahead in a fast-paced environment. Competitive wages with incentive opportunities and a strong benefits package are offered.

• Ability to work in environments subject to heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust, and noise.
• Accurate data entry into computers without transposing figures.
• Ability to read and follow procedures and technical manuals.
• Ability to think ahead and plan work in a fast-paced setting.

• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Ability to quickly coordinate hand motions with overhead crane operation.

• Successful completion of an ergonomic test.

Responsabilidades

• Tag and mark steel plate.

• Operate forklift.
• Perform additional responsibilities as directed by the front-line supervisor.

The starting wage for this role is $25.00/hour with monthly incentive bonus opportunities. • Use remotely controlled overhead cranes to stack and unstack steel plate
• Load and unload steel plate on conveyor systems
• Load and unload steel plate onto trucks and rail cars
• Use burning equipment and hand grinders to cut and prepare plate samples for testing
• Tag and mark steel plate
• Enter data into computer systems
• Operate forklift
• Perform additional responsibilities as directed by the front-line supervisor

Requirements

Preferred

• Experience operating a remote‑controlled crane in a fast‑paced environment
• 2–5 years industrial experience
• Experience in a position requiring planning out work
