Job description

SUMMARY:


The Material Handler is responsible for process sampling of ATBS intermediates and final product, in addition to packaging finished ATBS pellets into bulk bags or conversion of ATBS pellets into ATBS sodium solution for loading into tank trucks or totes. This position will require the material handler to fill, correctly weigh and create records related to the filling of finished goods and perform troubleshooting of related issues. In addition, housekeeping will be emphasized in this position. Routine tasks such as waste disposal, plant checks (round sheets) and engagement on employee continuous improvement projects are required.


RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Read, follow, and understand all pertinent operating procedures.

  2. Operating and adjusting process parameters to ensure product quality

  3. Ensure that finished product is blended, filtered, and sampled correctly

  4. Transfers to all storage tanks are communicated and performed correctly

  5. Replenish process essential chemicals to minimize process delays.

  6. Understands the hazards of equipment and process chemicals and can operate equipment safely and efficiently

  7. Operate and troubleshoot equipment. Operate forklift and conduct forklift inspections, same with pallet jack as needed.

  8. Able to accurately and consistently record process information.

  9. Identify, communicate, and mitigate, if possible, all unsafe behaviors, conditions, and spills

  10. Identify and understand properties and hazards of chemicals.

  11. Understand and follow permit procedures i.e. confined space, hot work, and line break.

  12. Assist with loading/unloading finished product as well as raw materials as needed.

  13. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management.

REQUIREMENTS:



  1. High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)

  2. Demonstrated good stewardship skills (Environmental, Health, and Safety)

  3. Strong process knowledge

  4. Strong written and oral communications skills

  5. Ability to work rotating shift and overtime, as needed

  6. Ability to multi-task, must be a quick learner and adapt to change
