Overview

Material Handlers work under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor. They are responsible for multiple tasks on the plant floor, including the timely packaging, shipment, and receipt of materials into and out of the facility. These tasks must be completed safely and efficiently, often without close supervision. Material Handlers must be able to work in a team environment, coordinating activities with others.

Material Handlers will work a rotating 4 on/4 off shift schedule:

• 4 consecutive day shifts (5am to 5pm)
• 4 days off
• 4 consecutive night shifts (5pm to 5am)

The schedule is subject to change based on shift coverage needs.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading materials using overhead cranes and forklifts
• Ensuring finished products are packaged and shipped according to customer specifications
• Measuring product dimensions with tape measures and micrometers
• Anticipating the needs of Line Operators and Equipment Operators to ensure continuous line operation
• Processing shipping and receiving paperwork and entering data into computer systems
• Familiarity with the production process to assist in problem-solving
