Job summary

Mill Creek Lumber and Supply Company is seeking a detail-oriented Material Handler to support warehouse and distribution operations in Oklahoma City. You will receive, inspect, and organize incoming materials, update inventory, and prepare orders for shipping, while following safety guidelines.

The role requires physical stamina, forklift operation, basic computer skills, and accurate documentation. A strong work ethic and teamwork are essential for timely deliveries and quality service.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Warehouse or materials handling experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification and ability to operate material handling equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and unload incoming materials following established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Accurately record and update inventory levels in the warehouse management system, ensuring stock rotation and proper storage of materials.
  • Assemble and package customer orders by picking, packing, and labeling materials in accordance with customer requirements and company standards.
  • Prepare shipments for delivery or pick-up, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move, stack, and transport materials within the warehouse.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or damage.
  • Inspect materials for quality, damage, or discrepancies, and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines, including lifting techniques and PPE usage.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area; document material handling activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in training new team members and provide support as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
