Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Material Handler.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for handling of all materials within the medical center. Responsibilities will include: receiving, storing, movement of, issuance and maintenance of all work areas and equipment, taking inventories. Attendance and punctuality is essential

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operation of manual and automatic jacks
  • Receiving, unloading and loading of all materials including linen.
  • Responsible for proper distribution of materials throughout the medical center.
  • Responsible for proper care and prudent operation of material handling equipment.
  • Responsible for issuance, receipt, and proper recording of transactions for all supplies and deliveries from and to materials management
  • Responsible for inventories, proper maintenance of same, and reporting of all shortages, overages, system balances and corrective action if necessary.
  • Responsible for processing of delivery care and hand held technology in storeroom and clinical areas.
  • Responsible for loading and delivery of materials throughout the medical center.
  • Adhere to scheduling of par locations.
  • Responsible for proper, safe and sanitary storage and care of materials and equipment.
  • Responsible for packing and shipment of materials as ordered.
  • Responsible for maintaining an efficient and clean workplace of all materials management equipment and work areas.
  • Responsible for processing carts through decontamination units and proper disposal of soiled materials.
  • Responsible for attaching, identifying tags or labels to materials upon receipt and recording disposition, if applicable.
  • Perform other material duties as requested by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience in shipping, receiving and distribution strongly preferred
Good written and oral communication skills
Basic math skills required (Simple Sums)

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $44,338.10 - $49,140.79 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
