Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Distribution Aid within Materials Management. The role supports supply distribution of med/surg items, stockrooms across the hospital, and par level control to meet joint commission standards.

Hours are 32 per week, day shift, Monday–Friday, with on-site work. Responsibilities include stocking supplies, rotating stock, processing stat requests, conducting physical inventory, and ensuring accurate labeling.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Prior hospital experience.
  • 1 year as a distribution aid recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute and stock med/surg supplies and equipment across clinical areas.
  • Rotate and reprocess stock to keep inventory current.
  • Handle stat and urgent supply requests quickly and accurately.
  • Conduct physical inventory of supply locations.
  • Maintain automated and manual par level re-supply systems.
  • Ensure stock items have accurate labeling and provide backups as needed.
  • Assist in year-end physical inventory and coordinate with the Director.

Stocking supply rooms throughout the hospital. Initiating new supply areas to meet joint commission standard. Controlling par levels for each item by daily reordering. Rotation of product. Candidate will participate in Shipping/Receiving duties. Maintain clean and safe work environment.I. Major Responsibilities:In accordance with hospital policies, procedures and standards, is responsible for the distribution of supplies and equipment:1. Stock supplies to maintain required inventory levels in all clinical areas, according to departmental protocols.2. Rotates and reprocesses supplies to assure that stock is current and up-to-date3. Handles all stat requirements quickly and accurately.4. Conducts physical inventory of supply locations.5. Identifies and reports all supply distribution problems to Director.6. Maintains automated and manual par level re-supply systems.7. Responsible for ensuring all stock items that are chargeable have appropriate and accurate stickers.8. Provides back up to Inventory Coordinator.9. Assists in year end physical inventory10. Understands how to prioritize responsibilities to ensure completion of duties.Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities:1. Complies with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.2.
