Job summary

Teledyne Qioptiq in Ohio is seeking a diligent Material Handler to support production operations by receiving, storing and moving materials. You will create and execute SAP transactions, assist with production line activities, and coordinate material movements with engineering, production and purchasing to meet schedules.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of 3 years’ manufacturing experience and at least 1 year in inventory control.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience with inventory control.
• Computer skills – inventory is kept in SAP and parts are issued out of inventory.
• MS Word experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Receive material and perform internal movements.
• Create and execute SAP transactions; provide production line support and ensure traceability.
• Interface with engineering, production and purchasing to coordinate material movements.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; organize storage, stocking and delivery; perform cycle counts.
• Identify and resolve inventory variances and related issues.
• Prepare, palletize and ship outbound shipments, including hazardous materials.
• Support consignment inventory tracking and usage.

Job Description

Teledyne Qioptiq has an immediate need for an enthusiastic Material Handler who will be responsible for assisting and conducting the receipt, storage, internal delivery and other material movements as necessary to support our production operations.

What you’ll do:

• Physically receiving material and internal movements.
• Creating and executing appropriate SAP transactions. Production line support, storage and traceability requirements.
• Interface with engineering, production and purchasing to coordinate material movements as needed.
• Compliance with all written procedures for inventory and material handling activities.
• Efficient movement of materials required to meet production schedules.
• Identify, track and elevate material shortages as appropriate.
• Building component “kits” as required to support production operations.
• Inventory accuracy; material organization, material stocking and delivery, cycle counts and physical inventory activities as required.
• Identify and resolve inventory variances and related issues.
• Document storage and retention in accordance with Teledyne Qioptiq requirements.
• Execution of vendor returns when appropriate/required.
• Preparation, palletization and execution of outbound shipments, including hazardous materials shipping.
• Consignment inventory tracking, usage and cost accuracy.

Physical requirements:

• Must be able to lift 30 lbs. on a consistent basis.
• Must be able to physically move supplies up and down stairs.
• Must be able to use a 5-step ladder with handrails.
• Hand and eye coordination required to operate a computer and mouse.

Preferred skills:

• Excel experience is desired
• SAP experience is desired

What you need:

• High school diploma or GED required

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. The right person will work closely with the Master Scheduler and Material Planner in a team environment to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
