Job summary

Teledyne Qioptiq in Miamisburg, OH is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to support production through material receipt, storage and internal movements. You will create SAP transactions and coordinate with engineering, production and purchasing to ensure traceability and timely deliveries.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, at least 3 years in manufacturing and 1 year in inventory control, plus SAP and MS Word skills.

• At least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting.
• At least 1 year of inventory control experience.
• Computer skills – SAP and MS Word required.

Responsibilities

• Physically receiving material and internal movements.
• Create and execute SAP transactions; support production lines; ensure storage and traceability.
• Coordinate material movements with engineering, production, and purchasing.
• Adhere to all inventory procedures and ensure compliance.
• Support production schedules through efficient material handling.
• Identify shortages and assist with kits for production.
• Maintain inventory accuracy, conduct cycle counts and physical inventory.
• Document storage and disposal per Qioptiq requirements.
• Process vendor returns when needed; prepare outbound shipments including hazardous materials.
• Track consignment inventory and cost accuracy.

Job Description

Teledyne Qioptiq has an immediate need for an enthusiastic Material Handler who will be responsible for assisting and conducting the receipt, storage, internal delivery and other material movements as necessary to support our production operations.

What You’ll Do

• Physically receiving material and internal movements.
• Creating and executing appropriate SAP transactions. Production line support, storage and traceability requirements.
• Interface with engineering, production and purchasing to coordinate material movements as needed.
• Compliance with all written procedures for inventory and material handling activities.
• Efficient movement of materials required to meet production schedules.
• Identify, track and upscale material shortages as appropriate.
• Building component “kits” as required to support production operations.
• Inventory accuracy; material organization, material stocking and delivery, cycle counts and physical inventory activities as required.
• Identify and resolve inventory variances and related issues.
• Document storage and retention in accordance with Teledyne Qioptiq requirements.
• Execution of vendor returns when appropriate/required.
• Preparation, palletization and execution of outbound shipments, including hazardous materials shipping.
• Consignment inventory tracking, usage and cost accuracy.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 30 lbs. on a consistent basis.
• Must be able to physically move supplies up and down stairs.
• Must be able to use a 5-step ladder with handrails.
• Hand and eye coordination required to operate a computer and mouse.

Preferred Skills

• Excel experience is desired
• SAP experience is desired

What You Need

• High school diploma or GED required
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting
• A minimum of 1 year of experience with inventory control
• Computer skills – inventory is kept in SAP and parts are issued out of inventory
• MS Word experience is required
