Job summary

TrueNorth Steel in Lubbock, TX is seeking a Material Handler to support production by unloading, loading, and moving materials with overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment. This is largely an outdoor role on a fast-paced site, requiring reliability and teamwork.

The position emphasizes safety, accurate material handling, and timely communication with team members. Shift is Monday–Friday 6:00 am–4:30 pm with potential overtime and weekends; full benefits available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Overhead Crane experience preferred.
• Must work well with others and follow safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Handle materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment to load, unload, and move materials across the site.
• Follow all safety and quality requirements and work with minimal supervision.
• Maintain prompt and dependable attendance and be flexible for overtime or weekend shifts as needed.

SHIFT: Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (Saturday additional OT as needed)

PAY RATE: $17.85 - 18.50 per hour (Depending on Experience) + Full Benefits Package

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for the general handling of materials where applicable. The handling of material may be associated with various areas, including unloading in-bound material, loading out-bound material, or moving and distributing material to various operation areas for fabrication using overhead cranes, forklifts, and other equipment.

• Follow all company safety and quality requirements.
• Efficiently and safely operate applicable equipment to unload, load and distribute material with minimal supervision.
• Communicate with team members verbally and non-verbally.
• Work efficiently in all forms of weather (wind, heat, cold, rain, snow).
• Willing to work flexible hours and overtime or weekends as needed.
• Prompt and dependable attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.
