Job summary

Staffmark Group is looking for a Material Handler in Lancaster, SC, offering a pay rate of $19.52 per hour. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of heavy industrial experience and sit-down forklift experience.

This role includes inspecting steel products, preparing materials for shipment, and maintaining efficient material handling operations. Benefits include medical, dental, and optional 401(k).

Responsibilities

• Inspect finished steel products for quality and accuracy.
• Secure lids on product containers and prepare materials for shipment.
• Operate a sit-down forklift to move pallets and dump bins safely.
• Shrink-wrap or steel-band palletized products for transportation.
• Transfer finished products from the production line to staging or loading areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of heavy industrial experience required
• Previous steel manufacturing or steel production experience strongly preferred
• Sit‑down forklift experience required
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks in an industrial environment
• Strong attention to quality inspection and workplace safety
• Dependable work history and ability to work independently or on a team

Responsibilities

• Inspect finished steel products for quality and accuracy
• Secure lids on product containers and prepare materials for shipment
• Operate a sit‑down forklift to move pallets and dump bins safely
• Shrink‑wrap or steel‑band palletized products for transportation
• Transfer finished products from the production line to staging or loading areas
• Load and secure materials onto railcars, boxcars, or truck trailers
• Maintain efficient material handling and shipping operations
• Follow all workplace safety and production procedures
