Job summary

Kona Brewing Hawaii is seeking a Material Handler to support daily packaging operations in our Hawaii warehouse. You will assist with loading/unloading, moving materials, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment under the Packaging Manager's guidance.

Responsibilities include operating warehouse equipment, following SOPs, and ensuring accurate inventory records while contributing to a fast-paced, team-oriented production setting.

Qualifications

  • Requires basic computer skills for inventory records update.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs repeatedly and stand for long shifts.
  • Experience in warehouse, manufacturing, warehousing or distribution preferred.
  • Must pass background check per company policy.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload finished products from conveyors.
  • Monitor for mis-labeling and product mixing.
  • Operate equipment like Switchback 150 and Tray Packer safely.
  • Move products using hand trucks and pallets jacks.
  • Load/unload trailers as per SOP.

Job description

Material Handler

We are seeking a Material Handler candidate to join our team at Kona Brewing Hawaii. As a Material Handler, you will work in warehouse environments assisting with the daily packaging operations. This position will report directly to the Packaging Manager. The compensation range for this position is $22-$24/hour, depending on experience and skill.

Responsibilities
  • Perform loading and unloading of finished products from applicable conveyor belts.
  • Monitor finished goods for mis-labeling and possible mixing of products.
  • Safely operate all departmental equipment which includes Switchback 150 and Tray Packer.
  • Move finished products and materials from the packaging area and other production work areas utilizing hand trucks, pallets jacks and powered industrial trucks.
  • As directed, load and unload trailers in line with Company standard operating procedures.
  • Operates warehouse equipment (e.g. powered industrial trucks, hand trucks, hand tools, etc.) for the purpose of moving large and heavy items safely and efficiently. Must be certified to operate all Company powered industrial trucks and undergo yearly recertification by the Safety Manager.
  • Stack finished goods and raw materials onto pallets in a pre-defined stacking pattern in designated areas.
  • Utilize chemicals to clean machinery in department in adherence with safety standards and company standard operating procedures.
  • Follow all safety procedures and adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the safe operation of equipment.
  • As directed, maintain a safe, clean work environment that includes general housekeeping and warehouse duties.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify all Emergency Stops on all equipment within work areas.
  • Assist other Material Handlers in feeding repack materials into appropriate machinery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution environments
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Applicants, without an accommodation, must have the ability to frequently reach, twist, stoop, bend, crouch, stand and walk for 10 hour shifts. Must be able to lift 30 lbs repeatedly
  • Basic computer skills for updating inventory records
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility to work different shifts as needed
  • Applicants, without an accommodation, must be able to operate powered inductrial trucks and pallet jacks for the purpose of moving large and heavy pallets safely and efficiently. Applicants will be required to undergo yearly recertification by the Human Resources and Packaging department.
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and able to pass a comprehensive background check in line with Company policy

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
