Job summary

West Pharmaceutical Services is seeking a Material Handler to move materials across the facility, manage SAP records, and support production and warehouse operations. The role requires a minimum of 3 years in material handling and a valid driver''s license with forklift experience preferred.

You will load and unload trailers, maintain inventory accuracy, and help maintain a safe, efficient work environment. This onsite role offers opportunities for growth and teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Safely move materials between Warehouse, Inspection, Production, and Molding areas; ensure SAP transactions are accurate.
  • Perform monthly inventory counts and maintain accurate records.
  • Load/unload trailers and stage materials for storage and shipping.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse; support other departments as needed.
  • Adhere to cGMP, SOPs, and safety policies.

  • D Shift: 12-Hour Nights on a 2-2-3 schedule from 5:45PM - 6AM EST.

Job Summary

The Material Handler plays an important role in keeping materials and products moving safely and efficiently throughout the facility. This position is responsible for moving materials between Warehouse, Inspection, Production, and Molding areas, completing accurate SAP transactions, maintaining inventory accuracy, and loading and unloading trailers. The Material Handler also helps maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment and provides support to other departments as needed.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Safely and efficiently move materials between Warehouse, Inspection, Production, and Molding areas while ensuring accurate and timely SAP transactions.

  • Perform monthly inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records.

  • Load and unload trailers, including finished goods for customers and semi‑finished products transported to and ffrom outside storage areas.

  • Properly stage, stack, and store materials to maintain an organized and safe warehouse.

  • Keep warehouse aisles and work areas clear, clean, and free of safety hazards.

  • Monitor and replenish copy room supplies, as needed.

  • Manage recycling activities in accordance with established procedures.

  • Support warehouse operations and provide assistance to other departments, as needed.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.


Education

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Work Experience

  • Must have at least 3 years of material handling experience.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities


  • Must possess a valid driver's license with the ability to operate the company van.

  • Must have at least 3 years of forklift operation experience.

  • Must be able to work from heights.

  • Must be a strong team player with the ability to make sound decisions within assigned responsibilities.

  • Must be flexible and willing to work overtime, as needed.

  • Must demonstrate reliability with consistent attendance.

  • Must be capable of performing all essential job duties effectively and independently.

  • Must be proficient in basic computer skills.

  • Must have working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

  • Must be knowledgeable of and compliant with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relevant to the role.

  • Must contribute to Lean Sigma initiatives and support continuous improvement efforts.

  • Must be able to comply with the company's safety and quality policies, at all times.


Travel Requirements

5%: Up to 13 business days per year


Physical Requirements

Light-Exerting up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force frequently constantly to move objects.


Additional Requirements


  • Must be able to stand, twist, bend, reach, push, pull, and walk frequently.

  • Must be able to work with items weighing up to 40lbs.
