Location: Union, IL 60180
Pay Rate: $16.50/hr
Shift: 2nd shift, Mon-Fri, 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. +OT
Description:
Join our dynamic Warehouse team as a Material Handler, where you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining the flow of products! This position involves a variety of essential warehouse duties, including pulling and delivering products to production or shipping, efficiently loading and unloading trucks and containers, and diligently stocking and restocking shelves. If you’re also forklift certified, you’ll be responsible for conducting daily safety inspections, battery maintenance, and promptly reporting any unsafe conditions, all while adhering to strict safety guidelines. We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and ready to contribute to a productive environment.
Material Handler Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain inventory integrity
Pull inventory for production needs
Stock all received inventory efficiently
Manage cardboard and plastic scrap disposal
Ensure warehouse and related areas are clean and organized
Perform assistance to the shipping department as needed
For forklift certified Material Handlers:
Conduct daily safety inspections of any fork truck in use.
Perform battery watering as needed for any fork truck in use.
Report any damage or unsafe conditions within the warehouse or racking system.
Conform to all safety requirements and guidelines for fork truck drivers as described in approved training materials.
Material Handler Qualifications and Requirements
Experience with inventory control is beneficial.
Prior fork truck driving experience is helpful.
Possess strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
Capable of expressing ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing.
Aptitude for working collaboratively with a diverse range of personnel (skilled, unskilled, professional, administrative).
