Job description

Job Title: Material Handler

Responsible for ensuring the organic materials flow through the shakers, informing the heavy equipment operator to fill the shakers, performing housekeeping duties which include scraping, sweeping, and shoveling, stacking bags, and assisting where necessary at the direction of the foreman.

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Entry level experience
• Electrical troubleshooting, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repair experience (preferred)

Skills and Competencies:

• Ability to follow safety practices to ensure safety of self and others
• Ability to work in dusty environments and in hot, cold, or rainy weather
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb ladders and work on feet for most of the day

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain flow through shakers by poking the material to break it up to prevent bridging
2. Maintain finishing screens by scraping to ensure product flows through
3. Perform housekeeping duties to prevent material accumulation under conveyors, in aisles, and on catwalks, following safety protocols
4. Meet quality and quantity standards
5. Inform maintenance personnel of equipment issues
6. Assist with small bag line operations as needed
7. Assist with restacking pallets and cleanup as needed
