Job summary

EK Machine Co. is seeking a forklift operator to move materials within the Welding Department. You will stage jobs, inspect the forklift daily for safety, and follow work orders to move, label, and track components.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, operating a forklift, retrieving components, and entering locations in the system to ensure accurate inventory and workflow in a manufacturing environment.

• Read work orders or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Compare identifying information and counts, weigh, or measure products in/out of the department.
• Load and unload materials onto/from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or forklift.
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases and containers.
• Use the job traveler to select the appropriate move ticket for subsequent operations.
• Safely operate industrial forklift truck or electric hoist to move materials and products in Welding Department.
• Retrieve components and fixtures from inventory, issue components, and verify counts.
• Locate components and enter locations in computer.

Loads, unloads, and moves materials within the Welding Department by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Stage jobs according to supervisor’s instruction.
• Performs daily safety inspection of department forklift and completes required paperwork.
• Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures products coming in and going out of the department.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or forklift.
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases and other containers.
• Uses the job traveler to select the appropriate move ticket for subsequent operations.
• Safely operates industrial forklift truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products in the Welding Department.
• Retrieves components and fixtures from inventory according to job traveler, issues components, and verifies counts.
• Locates components and enters locations in computer.
