Job summary

Wavepoint 3PL is seeking a Material Handler to operate forklifts, move and stage goods, and support warehouse operations with a focus on accuracy and safety.

The role requires staying alert while handling inbound/outbound shipments, verifying lot numbers, and ensuring proper stock rotation. You will work on-site in a fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Prior forklift experience is required.
  • Safe driving operations are expected.
  • Detail-oriented with a results-driven mindset.
  • Standing 4-8 hours daily.
  • Ability to walk short distances.
  • Able to lift 10–60 lbs and overhead lifting.
  • Push/pull heavy loads safely.
  • Climb/balance on/off equipment.
  • Must speak/read/understand English.
  • Simple problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect trailers and inbound materials for damages; report to supervision.
  • Verify quantities, lot numbers, and production codes against manifests.
  • Unload inbound trailer shipments safely and efficiently.
  • Move products to appropriate storage locations.
  • Pull and prepare products for shipment; verify locations and quantities.
  • Perform picking to meet customer service standards.
  • Inspect outbound materials for damages; report to supervision.
  • Move products from staging to trailers as needed.
  • Load, unload, move, stack and stage products using forklifts and related equipment.
  • Inspect equipment daily and report safety issues.
  • Operate all equipment safely according to prescribed methods.
  • Maintain records for inventory control and security.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation.

Summary:

The Material Handler is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, count, unload, and load merchandise within the warehouse. The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient use of industrial vehicles and equipment. The Material Handler is responsible for order selection and inspection, as needed. The incumbent must have a clear understanding of, and adhere to, Wavepoint Warehousing's operational and safety policies and procedures. The incumbent will also be asked to assist in unstacking, packing, shrink wrapping, and restacking pallets of products to make a variety of display packs for customers.

Material Handler Job Description
  • Inspect trailers and inbound materials for signs of shipment damage, contamination, and infestation. Report any damages to supervision.
  • Verify quantities, lot numbers, and production code dates against manifests and driver documents. Report any shortages, misplacements, or discrepancies to supervision.
  • Unload inbound trailer shipments safely and efficiently.
  • Move the product to the appropriate storage locations.
  • Pull and prepare the product for shipment, ensuring that the product comes from the proper locations and that the quantities and lot numbers agree with the picking documents.
  • Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
  • Inspect trailers and outbound materials for signs of damage, contamination, and infestation. Report any damages to supervision.
  • Safely and efficiently move products from the staging or storage areas into trailers.
  • Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials using sit-down and stand-up style forklifts, or other power equipment with various attachments.
  • Inspect equipment daily and verify that it is operational and meets safety requirements, prior to the start of the day’s activity. Report any issues to supervision.
  • Operate all equipment safely and efficiently, following prescribed work methods.
  • Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that inventory control and security are maintained.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation.
Requirements

  • Lifting, occasional heavy lifting, overhead lifting, from floor level, weights from 10-60 lbs., and lifting while moving the body in various motions

  • Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must be able to speak, read, and understand the English language
  • Simple problem-solving skills
