Job Description:

  • Perform one or more distribution-related functions that allow, as the business requires, assignment across various functions to the different activity areas such as replenishment, bin/bulk order pulling, bin/bulk stocking, receiving/returns, sorting, or loading.
  • Assist in the preparation of incoming stock items for warehouse put-away and moving pallets into storage locations.
  • Ensure that quality control steps have been performed on received goods according to guidelines and standards
  • Complete assigned receiving documentation and enter it into the WMS accurately and promptly according to the guidelines and standards defined
  • Operates a handheld scanner to access and update information for receiving, counting, and order processing.
  • Perform replenishment of products to a variety of pick locations such as flow rack, shelving, and pallet positions.
  • Perform activities regarding movement and consolidation of stock in the storage areas for maximum space utilization.
  • Full Case and Pallet Pulling assigned you will pull TL, LTL, and Small Package Case Picks, label, and stage cases/pallets to assigned areas for shipment building.
  • Return Goods Put Away Identify and put away resalable return goods.
  • Pull and stage products for kit building, make-up jobs, remainder orders, disposals, and transfers as needed.
  • Consolidate and prepare special order distributor accounts for shipment.
  • Assist with the quarterly changeover of all curriculum lines including disposal, transfer of product from current location to previous locations, and setting up the new current curriculum product into the new forward pick locations.
  • Assist in cycle counting program

  • Perform preventative maintenance as assigned by the Lead; maintain lift truck battery water levels and recharging of lift trucks; Maintain tools and equipment to ensure they are always in good operating condition at all times as well as keep the dock area clean and organized.
  • Demonstrates a high level of understanding of storage strategy and warehouse procedure
  • Contribute to a safe work environment, and keep work areas neat, clean, and safe with a continuous focus on housekeeping and safety.
  • Interact with supervisors, leads, and/or workgroups exchanging information
  • Participate in the implementation and contribute ideas and suggestions for continuous improvements to the distribution process in a group setting.
  • Assignment to other functional tasks may be done on a daily or less than daily basis.
  • All other duties and special projects are assigned.
Qualifications

Position Requirements:

Required Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification codes, basic knowledge of warehouse procedures, and familiarity with the storage areas to be able to place stock, signatures, and materials following SOPs.
  • Able to stock, move, arrange, unload, count, and rotate items on/off equipment.
  • Basic skill in the use of manual dollies, carts, and hand tools used in material handling tasks such as hammers, pliers, and related equipment.
  • The job requires the ability to lift 20 to 50 lb. cartons repetitively and the ability to lift 100lbs. if needed.
  • Able to read, copy and record figures and are comfortable with numbers, and have good math skills
  • Can walk and stand 8-10 hours per day
  • Able to complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and the labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Basic skill in the use of strapping equipment, manual dollies, pallet jacks, carts, and hand tools used in material handling tasks such as hammers, pliers, strapping, and stretch wrapping tools and equipment, tape fasteners, metal band sheers, and related equipment.
  • Experience with heavy machinery such as: Sit down and Standup Forklift, Order Picker, Scissor Lift and electric and manual pallet jacks

Formal Education: High-School graduate or G.E.D equivalence

Specialized Knowledge/Certification: WMS, Handheld Scanners, Lift truck certified with proven experience using: sit down, stand up, order picker, scissor lift, and basic lift truck maintenance.

On the job Years of Experience: 0 -2 years experience in Distribution/3PL in Material Handling, Receiving, Cycle Couting

The job Activity Experience: You will have on-the-job experience in some of the following activities: material handling, receiving, warehousing, inventory control, and cycle counting.
