Job summary

Special-Lite is seeking a hands-on Materials Handler in Decatur, Michigan, to keep the production floor stocked and efficiently linked to trailers, storage racks, and production departments. You will move materials, use the part-numbering system, and ensure timely deliveries to meet daily production needs.

The role requires a forklift license, valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or GED, and comfort with basic hand tools.

Qualifications

• Forklift experience with safe operation in a warehouse environment.
• Forklift license required; if not held, training will be provided.
• Valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Solid math skills used in practical scenarios (fractions, percentages, ratios).
• Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
• Professional attitude, especially when working with customers and suppliers.
• Willingness to rotate into other roles/departments as production needs shift.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials from company vehicles and move to storage racks.
• Use our part-numbering system to place materials on docks, racking, and shelves.
• Collaborate with production to confirm material needs and delivery timing.
• Pull inventory for deliveries and maintain stock levels.
• Communicate with suppliers to order materials and flag scrap inventory.
• Operate forklift daily and use man lift or overhead crane as needed; follow safety procedures.

Are you the person on your current team who can spot a misplaced pallet from across the warehouse? If so, we need you on our materials team. We’re looking for a hands‑on, detail‑driven Materials Handler to keep our production floor stocked, organized, and running smoothly. You’ll be the vital link between our trailers, storage racks, and production departments — making sure the right parts get to the right place, every time. What You’ll Do

• Load and unload materials from company vehicles, moving them safely to and from storage racks
• Use our dedicated part numbering system to place materials accurately on loading docks, pallet racking, and inventory shelves
• Work directly with production departments each day to confirm material needs and deliver what’s required, when it’s required
• Pull inventory in preparation for deliveries and help keep stock levels where they need to be
• Communicate with suppliers to order materials and flag inventory that should be scrapped
• Operate a forklift daily — along with a man lift, and overhead crane as needed Follow safety procedures to protect yourself and your teammates What You Bring
