Job Description
The Quality Supervisor owns the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and leads day-to-day QA/QC operations, including authoring and maintaining the Quality Manual, SOPs, and compliance documentation. The role calls for hands-on manufacturing or technical operations experience paired with strong supervisory leadership. We’re looking for a quality leader who has built systems from the ground up and thrives on introducing new processes, scaling them across an organization, and turning them into lasting standards of excellence.
- Author, review, and maintain the Quality Manual, SOPs, and document control guidelines, including revision workflows and standard work practices across quality checkpoints.
- Translate corporate quality objectives into measurable shop-floor practices and quality control plans.
- Lead and mentor the quality assurance engineer and analyst; develop and deliver training on inspection methods, gauge usage, defect criteria, and procedural compliance.
- Plan and execute internal QMS and process audits.
- Manage incoming material inspections, calibration schedules, and supplier quality requirements, and maintain full traceability and calibration records for equipment, tools, and test labs.
- Lead containment efforts, MRB dispositions, and non-conforming material processing (DMRs/RMA).
- Launch and facilitate the organization's root cause analysis (RCA) process (5-Why, 8D, Fishbone, FMEA) and drive CAPA plans to permanent closure, reducing scrap, rework, and customer complaints.
- Monitor quality KPIs (defect rates, scrap %, first-pass yield) and apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) to catch trends and process variability early.
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance on Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement projects.
- Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive QA/QC experience in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial operations.
- 2+ years in a direct supervisory or managerial role leading quality personnel.
- Proven track record in creating, launching, or updating a comprehensive Quality Manual and related QMS documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Quality, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or a technical discipline (or equivalent education/experience).
- Preferred Certifications & Skills
- Certifications: ASQ CQM/OE, CQA, CQE, or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
- Software: QMS platforms, ERP systems, document control software (Vault), and MS Office.
- Soft skills: strong technical writing, cross-departmental communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making under high-pressure timelines.
- Physical Requirements:
- Frequently subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electric current, and exposure to heat and chemicals.
- Occasionally subject to conditions including one or more of the following that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, or poor ventilation.
