Advantech Industries Inc. is a family-owned manufacturing company based in Rochester, New York, specializing in CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, and assembly services. The company, founded in 2002, serves multiple industries, including defense, medical, and aerospace, and operates out of a 250,000-square-foot facility.

Advantech Industries Inc. is currently recruiting a Material Handler, who will be responsible for moving materials, parts and skids throughout the facility.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage incoming and outgoing scrap materials, including collecting scrap throughout the facility, maintaining scrap bins and containers, preparing materials for shipment, and coordinating scrap pickups as needed
• Safely operate forklifts, hand pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment to move materials throughout the manufacturing facility
• Transport and organize raw materials, finished parts, pallets, crates, bins of metal chips/scrap, and other materials as needed
• Assist with shipping activities, including moving, staging, loading, and unloading materials and finished products
• Follow all equipment operating procedures and manufacturing safety requirements to ensure materials are handled safely and efficiently

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to safely and efficiently use a forklift to move throughout the facility and in and out of trucks
• Capacity to handle changes in business operations and adjust to new situations
• Preparedness to move and off of a forklift and operate hand and foot controls
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Alignment with the requirements and principles of the Advantech Quality Management System and ISO 9001:2015
• A HS Diploma or GED
• 4 years of previous forklift operation in a manufacturing environment

According to the New York Pay Transparency law, pay range for this job is $19.00 - $25.00 / hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
