Job summary

MRP Solutions is seeking a Material Handler in Plattsburgh, NY. You will operate material handling equipment, move WIP and finished goods, and support inventory and production operations in a fast-paced facility.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and flexibility to assist with various duties as needed. Fork truck certification is required within one week of start date, with training provided by MRP Solutions.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform under general supervision and work independently by following a schedule.
• Vigilance in inventory documentation and quality control.
• Comfort with physically demanding, standing/walking shifts and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Remove completed pallets from machines and stack finished cartons onto pallets.
• Move materials between WIP locations and fill assembly machines with WIP.
• Assist with scheduled plant inventory events and cover breaks as needed.
• Ensure proper scanning to/from machines and locations; maintain accurate inventory records.

Salary Range: $17.50 To $19.25 Hourly

DEPARTMENT:Production

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of tasks which require a thorough knowledge of materials, tools, and equipment. This position requires someone that can work independently from a schedule with minimal supervision.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for removing completed pallets from all machines
• Stacking of finished cartons onto pallets
• Move materials from and to WIP locations
• Filling assembly machines with WIP
• Available to assist with all scheduled plant inventory events
• Relieves operators during lunches and breaks – as needed
• Inspection of product before placing into appropriate carton
• Grinding of runners
• Responsible for the accurate documentation of inventory items
• Scanning to the machines properly
• Scanning from the machines properly
• Scanning to and from locations
• Other duties as assigned.

Obtain Fork truck certification (Certification required within 1 week of start date / offered by MRP Solutions)

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:

While performing the duties, the employee will be required to sit and/or stand, talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands, fingers and arms to feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms. Prolonged standing/walking periods of 12 hours. May be required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift to 50 pounds.

• Food Safety Responsibilities:
  • Monitors and verifies activities to ensure that finished goods and raw materials are coming in and out of the facility meet consumer safety and quality standards.
  • Complies with all company food safety and quality assurance procedures
  • Reports any product or process failures that could impact food safety of manufactured products to the location’s Food Safety Team Leader and submits an appropriate incident report
