Responsibilities

• Load or unload trucks for daily store runs.
• Follow all weighing procedures.
• Transfer merchandise and salvage items.
• Move carts and Gaylords to holding areas.
• Fill out required paperwork as required.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
• Follow safety procedures and report injuries and hazards.
• Maintain good housekeeping at end of shift.
• Develop skills to handle increased truck runs and merchandise.
• Work productively without close supervision.

Purpose or General Objective:

To assist with loading/unloading trucks and general transfer of merchandise.

Essential Duties:

• Continually load or unload trucks for daily store runs
• Correctly follow all weighing procedures
• Transfer seasonal merchandise and salvage merchandise
• Transfer carts and Gaylords to the appropriate holding area within the plant
• Fill out appropriate paperwork as required
• Maintain a safe and orderly work environment
• Follow safety procedures and report injuries and safety hazards
• Maintain good housekeeping skills including sweeping and cleaning work area at the end of shift
• Develop and maintain skills to adjust to increased level of truck runs and incoming merchandise
• Ability to work productively without close supervision.
• Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with all employees, participants, customers and consumers working with and for Goodwill Industries.

Additional Duties:

Other duties as assigned by the Charlotte Plant Supervisor, Transportation Supervisor, Operations Manager, Retail Director or Vice President of Retail and Donated Goods.
