Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking an Inventory Support specialist to manage inventories across multiple manufacturing departments, including glass movement and stock transactions. The role handles in‑process products, material delivery to shelves, and movement of items between inventory locations.

You will work with receiving, inspection data entry, and lot number generation, while supporting Kanban adoption and ERP transactions. Strong Excel skills and forklift experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of work experience in a manufacturing setting with inventory control, shipping and receiving.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Outlook, Word and manufacturing databases; Oracle/Agile or similar ERP systems experience required.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, able to work with minimal supervision and prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Support inventories across multiple manufacturing departments including glass movement and transactions.
  • Manage in-process products, including receiving, calculations, and preparation for external operations.
  • Deliver material to department stock shelves and move in-process items to different locations.
  • Handle requisitions of product to and from outside processes; include packaging and shipping order creation.
  • Perform receiving and inspection data entry and generate lot numbers; scrapping outdated stock.
  • Move products through plant inventory, support Test and Finished Goods Inventory (FGI).
  • Deliver raw materials, pick up and distribute clean room garments, provide back-up to Receiving/FGI.
  • Help set up site-wide Kanban systems and perform Oracle/Cumulus transactions.

    • Miscellaneous shipping order creation
  • Handling products and raw materials from Receiving (including inspection and entering technical data into databases, generating lot numbers)
  • Scrapping product no longer needed
  • Responsible for product movement throughout the plant, supporting the Test and Finished Goods Inventory (FGI) departments
  • Delivery of other raw materials and supplies throughout the facility as needed
    • Picking up and distributing clean room garments
  • Other Inventory Support

Education & Work Experience
  • A minimum of 2 + years of work experience in a manufacturing setting is required, including inventory control, shipping and receiving experience. Lean manufacturing and ability to drive a forklift are a plus.
  • Applicants must be proficient with MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word and technical manufacturing databases. Experience with Oracle/Agile (or other MRP/ERP systems) is required.
  • Applicant must have a detail-oriented, methodical approach to task completion, with excellent organizational and inventory skills. The individual must be conscientious and able to work with minimal supervision but seek supervisory approval on non-routine tasks.
  • Strong written / verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are required. Individuals must be responsible, energetic and highly motivated. He/she must possess a high level of organization and be able to work on and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • The individual must be team-oriented and work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. The ability to engage effective working relationships with all levels of personnel in the organization while maintaining enthusiasm and a willingness to share ideas and learn will predicate success.
