Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking an Inventory Support Specialist in New Jersey to maintain inventory across manufacturing departments, support ISO standards, and drive accuracy through cycle counts.

You will handle receiving, shipping, data entry, and cross-functional teamwork, with proficiency in Excel and ERP systems. This role emphasizes detail orientation, reliability, and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment with inventory control, shipping and receiving.
  • Proficient with MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Word; experience with manufacturing databases.
  • Experience with Oracle/Agile or similar MRP/ERP systems.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and inventory skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; energetic and motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Support inventories across multiple manufacturing departments, including glass movement and transactions.
  • Manage in-process products, receiving and transport before/after external operations.
  • Deliver material to department stock shelves and move product between inventory locations.
  • Handle requisitions to/from outside processes, including packaging and shipping orders.
  • Enter technical data, generate lot numbers and inspect incoming materials.
  • Scrap obsolete products and support material movement throughout the plant.
  • Provide back-up for Receiving and FGI; help set up site-wide Kanban systems.
  • Weekly cycle counting of inventory (MRO) and perform Oracle/Cumulus transactions.

Job description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supporting inventories across multiple manufacturing departments, including both glass movement and inventory transactions.
    • Management of products in-process including receiving, minor calculations and preparation/transporting before and after external operations.
    • Delivering material to different department stock shelves
    • Moving product in-process to different Inventory locations
    • Handling the requisition of product to and from outside processes (third party processing)
      • Including packaging
      • Miscellaneous shipping order creation
    • Handling products and raw materials from Receiving (including inspection and entering technical data into databases, generating lot numbers)
    • Scrapping product no longer needed
  • Responsible for product movement throughout the plant, supporting the Test and Finished Goods Inventory (FGI) departments
  • Delivery of other raw materials and supplies throughout the facility as needed
    • Picking up and distributing clean room garments
  • Other Inventory Support
    • Help set up site-wide Kanban systems
    • Provide back-up & support for the Receiving and FGI team
    • Weekly cycle counting of inventory of MRO
  • Perform associated Oracle and Cumulus transactions for all the above items
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of 2 + years of work experience in a manufacturing setting isrequired, including inventory control, shipping and receiving experience. Lean manufacturing and ability to drive a forklift are a plus.
  • Applicants must be proficientwith MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word and technical manufacturing databases. Experience with Oracle/Agile (or other MRP/ERP systems) is required.
  • Applicant must have a detail-oriented, methodical approach to task completion, with excellent organizational and inventory skills. The individual must be conscientious andable to work with minimal supervision but seek supervisory approval on non-routine tasks.
  • Strong written / verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are required. Individuals must be responsible, energetic and highly motivated. He/she must possess a high level of organization and be able to work on and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • The individual must be team-oriented and work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. The ability to engage effective working relationships with all levels of personnel in the organization while maintaining enthusiasm and a willingness to share ideas and learn will predicate success.
