Job summary

SMV MANAGEMENT LLC is seeking a material handler to manage movement, storage, and tracking of materials in a fast-paced plant. You will ensure right parts are available for production and maintain accurate inventory records.

Responsibilities include receiving, inspecting, labeling, and organizing materials, coordinating with maintenance, and upholding safety standards. A minimum of three years in warehousing is required, with forklift experience and basic computer/inventory system skills.

Qualifications

Description

Position Objective: This position is responsible for the movement, storage, tracking, and control of materials within the plant. The role ensures that production has the right materials at the right time while maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting efficient workflow.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verifying incoming materials against purchase orders or packing slips
• Oversee safe movement of materials to designated storage areas or production lines
• Perform quarterly inventory and maintain accurate inventory records
• Receives and verifies all incoming material.
• Label, organize, and store materials to ensure easy accessibility and proper rotation
• Designates and maintains material storage areas; develops and supervises material staging programs
• Processes all material movement forms and parts requisitions
• Coordinate with plant maintenance to ensure proper maintenance of material handling equipment and storage facilities
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper material handling procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

• Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems

Job Requirements

• May require a drug test (after conditional offer of employment)
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while handling inventory and materials, perform frequent hand and arm movements for tracking and organizing items, use a computer for data entry with repetitive hand and wrist motions, and regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• Tolerance for warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures, noise and moving equipment
