Job summary

Knapheide Truck Equipment Center in Birmingham, AL is seeking a full-time Material Handler to supply parts to the production area and fulfill customer orders accurately and on time. The role includes loading, unloading, inventory checks, and preparing parts for work orders, indoors and outdoors in all weather.

You will operate forklifts, read blueprints, and handle shipping/receiving documents while adhering to safety and efficiency standards. Monday–Thursday shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a Forklift Operators Certification.
• Ability to lift/move up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials daily and prepare parts for work orders.
• Monitor inventory and keep the warehouse and outdoor lot organized.
• Safely operate sit-down forklifts and move large material throughout the facility.
• Read blueprints to identify parts, work orders, and shipping/receiving docs.

This full-time position works Monday - Thursday from 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM; additional overtime as needed or required.

DAY-TO-DAY AS A MATERIAL HANDLER

In the Materials Handler role, you will regularly be on your feet loading and unloading materials, preparing parts for work orders, monitoring inventory, and keeping the warehouse and outside lot organized and clear of debris. You will safely operate sit-down forklifts, moving large material throughout the facility. You will read and interpret blueprints to identify parts, work orders, and shipping/receiving documents. This position works both inside and outside in all weather conditions.
