Responsibilities

1. The Material Handler performs daily distribution yard activities for a facility.
2. Perform distribution-related functions such as receiving, storing, and shipping/building loads.
3. Operate forklift equipment.
4. Ensure that loads match orders prior to vehicle departure from the yard.
5. Perform customer service activities.
6. Possess broad in-depth knowledge of building material products and warehouse operations.
7. Maintain alertness and adaptability to warehouse routines.
8. Understand and apply fundamental mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
9. Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
10. Follow safety programs and ensure OSHA regulation compliance.
11. Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• HS Diploma, GED, or two (2) years of equivalent work experience.
• Ability to understand and communicate safety and work-related instructions.
• Work in a warehouse environment with considerable physical exertion, in all weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of building material products and engineered wood products is a plus.
• Ability to measure lengths of materials accurately.
• Experience in warehouse settings, including industrial forklift operation, is preferred.
