Job summary

Crane Aerospace and Electronics seeks a Material Handler at our Auburn, CA site to receive, move, store, and ship production parts. You will ensure materials are accurate, available, and ready to meet on-time delivery goals.

The role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to follow precise work instructions. Minimum 3+ years in manufacturing with warehousing/packing knowledge and lean principles.

Qualifications

  • ITAR: US Persons may be required for access to controlled data.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory control.
  • Move materials between receiving, production, and shipping.
  • Unpack, receive, and stock materials into storeroom locations.
  • Read work orders to determine material and equipment needs for production cells.
  • Issue materials to production cells.
  • Perform cycle counts and escalate variances.

Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Material Handler at our Auburn, CA/Vian Enterprises site.

Job Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, moving, storing, counting, tracking, issuing, and shipping a variety of production parts, materials and supplies. The production floor relies on this position to provide the right parts and materials at the right time in order to meet on-time-delivery goals.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain accurate inventory control by following established work instructions and processes.
  • Move materials to and from receiving, production areas and shipping by hand, using sorting bins and carts, or other equipment
  • Unpack, receive, and stock materials into storeroom location(s)
  • Read work orders to determine material and equipment needs for production cell work
  • Issue critical materials to production cells
  • Complete the cycle count process for Value Stream; Escalate variances in counts, as needed
  • Respond to unplanned issues with internal customers in a timely manner
  • Pack and ship materials in accordance with contract requirements
  • Aid and/or Backfill coworkers, as needed to complete daily tasks
  • Change part stocking methods to better facilitate production needs
  • Perform root cause investigation on variances in cycle counts
  • Ensure compliance with export compliance rules
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience: 3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge: Warehousing and materials packing knowledge; Familiar with lean principles
  • Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated outstanding manual dexterity; Demonstrated ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks; Demonstrated ability to accurately follow detailed work instructions; Demonstrated ability to understand standard work instructions; Math skills to perform basic calculations; Outstanding verbal communication skills; Proficient with MS Office
  • Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
  • Standing: 50-75% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
  • Sitting: 25-50% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
  • Lifting (in pounds): up to 35 pounds
  • Pushing (in pounds): up to 35 pounds
  • Mental/Visual: use of computer, eye-loop
  • Workspace: stand up computer workstation and kitting carts

Salary range: $23.94 - $30.03. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
