Job summary

PPG Industries in Georgia is hiring a Material Handler for a first shift (Mon-Fri, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM) with potential to train on 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. Starting pay is $22.12 per hour and the selected candidate will work at our Kennesaw facility while Delta Airport access is pending.

As a Material Handler you will receive, store and distribute materials, operate forklifts, load and unload trucks, and read schedules to move items efficiently.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the day.
• Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, and distribute material, tools, and products in the warehouse.
• Load and unload products to and from delivery vehicles and storage areas.
• Read production schedules and orders to determine items to move or gather.
• Convey materials from receiving or production to storage or designated areas.
• Sort items on racks or bins by size, type, color or product code.
• Operate gas or electric forklifts to move and stack materials.

As a Material Handler you will be a crucial part of our operations, ensuring that a quality product is available to our customers when they need them. Your work will directly affect people’s lives!

Primary Responsibilities

• Work will be in warehouse doing functions such as: receiving, storing, and distributing material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments.
• Loads and unloads product to and from delivery vehicles and designated storage areas.
• Reads production schedule, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to a predetermined sequence, such as: size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Operates gas or electric powered forklift truck to move, stack, load or unload materials, parts, finished goods, etc.
• May load/unload trucks; may use a Hi-Rise to load items in storage racks.
