Responsibilities

  • Review work orders and coordinate with department leads to set up production lines.
  • Inspect forklift at the start of each shift and follow the checklist; report defects to supervisor immediately; submit daily.
  • Move freight, stock, and materials to/from storage, production, powder coating, shipping/receiving and outside areas.
  • Attach identifying tags to products and verify proper labeling.
  • Ensure materials and packaging are available at work stations as required.
  • Communicate with department leads to maintain a constant flow of materials.
  • Assist shipping/receiving in the removal of materials from containers as needed.
  • Record units handled each day using production sheets.
  • Restock, clean, and reorganize the production floor as needed.
  • Check that staged product is kept in safe areas; keep aisles and fire doors clear.
  • Fix, band, color code, and dispose of pallets.
  • Assist lead with servicing operations like anchoring and realignment of racking.
  • Maintain daily inventory records for production materials.
  • Communicate with and assist other workers in the area.
  • Follow housekeeping practices and safety precautions.
  • Identify and correct safety hazards promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARYResponsible for planning, maneuvering, monitoring, and proper placement of product and material movement through production areas to maintain efficient plant operations.ESSENTIAL DUTIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements and qualifications listed below are representative of the essential duties, knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.Review work orders and provide assistance and coordination with department leads to set up production lines.Inspect forklift at the beginning of each shift and follow designated checklist. Report all defects/concerns to supervisor/manager immediately. Submit checklist daily to supervisor/manager.Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage, production, powder coating, shipping and receiving, and outside areas to proper locations.Attach identifying tags to products and verify that every item is properly labeled, even if product has already been labeled.Ensure that job materials and packaging materials are available at work stations as required.Communicate frequently with department leads to provide for the constant flow of materials.Assist shipping and receiving department in the efficient removal of materials from containers and as otherwise needed.Record number of units handled and moved using daily production sheets.Restock, clean, and re-organize production floor as needed.Check that product staged and waiting to be used is placed in safe areas.Keep all aisle ways and fire doors free of materials.Fix, band, color code, and dispose of pallets.Assist lead with certain servicing operations, such as anchoring and realignment of racking.Maintain daily inventory records for production materials.Communicate with and assist other workers in work area.Follow good housekeeping practices within the facility, including effective use of all warehouse space and in external staging areas.Follow all safety precautions and use protective equipment as required.Identify and immediately correct any safety hazards in work area.Perform any other duties as assigned.Responsible for generating team spirit and creating and maintaining a personal attitude and work environment that fosters the highest level of employee cooperation, morale and satisfaction.Education and/or ExperienceOne to two years related experience is required. Forklift experience is required. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
