Job summary

OPW Clean Energy Solutions is seeking a Material Handler to relocate and organize production materials. Responsibilities include picking, delivering, and tracking inventory using forklifts and tow motors to support the production team.

  • Knowledge of basic math, algebra, fractions, measures, and weights.
  • Must be a team player with strong communication skills.
  • Prior experience as a Materials Handler is required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor material needs of production areas using visual inspection, oral instructions, or work orders.
  • Pick materials from storage and deliver to machines or production areas using forklifts and tow motors.
  • Track inventory movements by scanning labels and entering data into MRP.
  • Load and unload freight and materials on/off loading docks using forklifts and tow motors.
  • Check delivery quantities, sort materials, and store items according to the storage system.
  • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
  • Maintain equipment storage areas to keep inventory protected and organized.
  • Check forklifts and other machinery for full charge and proper functioning.
  • Construct boxes with a staple gun.
  • Load bar stock.
  • Dumping chips or scraps, using forklift or by hand.

Scope

The Material Handler is an integral component of our production team, relocating and organizing materials for production. This includes monitoring material needs, organizing, picking, and delivering materials, monitoring inventory levels, and submitting order requests.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor the material needs of various production areas through visual inspection, oral instructions, or work orders, pick materials from storage, and deliver items to the appropriate machines or production areas, using forklifts, cranes, sit-down tow motors, and stand-up tow motors.
  • Track inventory movements by scanning labels, including packing slips, and entering item information into MRP.
  • Load and unload freight and materials to or from loading docks or delivery vehicles, using forklifts, sit-down tow motors, and stand-up tow motors.
  • Check delivery quantities, sort materials, and store items according to the department's storage system.
  • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
  • Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected and organized.
  • Check forklifts and other machinery for full charge and proper functioning.
