Job summary

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or logistics; or an associate with 3 years of experience.
Proven ERP/MRP software experience and understanding of standard shipping docs like BOLs, ASNs, INCOTERMS.
Strong interpersonal, organizational and follow-though capabilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

Monitor active purchase orders, vendor promises, transit status, and scheduled arrivals.
Detect potential supply chain interruptions to protect project timelines.
Communicate clearly with vendors, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.
Resolve issues related to incomplete orders, QA holds, and shipping docs.
Keep ERP/MRP data current and generate vendor performance metrics.
Support during outages, turnarounds, and urgent project phases.
Help strengthen vendor relationships and lead-time management.

Job description

We are currently looking for a dedicated Material Expeditor to join our team in the Columbus region. This role provides a comprehensive compensation package, featuring medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as paid time off and holiday leave.

Role Overview

In this position, you will play a vital part in guaranteeing the timely arrival of essential goods and services. Your primary focus will involve monitoring vendor schedules and transit progress, proactively addressing shipment bottlenecks, and collaborating across departments with procurement, logistics, and project management teams to ensure project success.

Core Duties

Monitor active purchase orders, vendor promises, transit status, and scheduled arrival dates.
Proactively detect potential supply chain interruptions to help maintain project timelines.
Facilitate clear communication between external vendors, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.
Manage and resolve complications related to incomplete orders, quality assurance holds, and shipping documentation.
Ensure that all inventory and logistics data remains current within our ERP/MRP software.
Generate performance metrics regarding vendor reliability and overdue shipment status.
Provide critical support during high-pressure outages, turnarounds, and urgent project phases.
Contribute to the enhancement of vendor relationships and the optimization of lead time management processes.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Logistics; alternatively, an Associate’s degree combined with 3 years of experience, or 4 years of direct experience in materials or logistics.
Proven proficiency working within ERP/MRP software environments.
Solid understanding of standard shipping documentation, including BOLs, ASNs, and INCOTERMS.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and follow-through capabilities.
Competency in Microsoft Excel and foundational data analysis techniques.
