Job summary

Bosch is seeking a Machine Operator I to operate sheet metal fabrication equipment in a structured manufacturing environment. You will read blueprints, set up machines, and monitor production using MES while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include inspecting parts, recording yields, and reporting discrepancies. The role requires basic computer skills, adherence to 5S, and strict safety compliance in a high-volume setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Proficiency with decimals, fractions and scales.
  • Complete in-plant Brazer training if brazing is required for the job.
  • On-the-job training is provided for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Operate press machine to fabricate sheet metal parts within tolerance.
  • Inspect parts and report discrepancies.
  • Enter yield into MES and production log at the machine (5S area).
  • Verify information and read blueprints for setup and quality checks.
  • Set up and adjust control consoles for Auto Shear and manual shear.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area and follow PPE guidelines.

Job description

Operatepress machine to fabricate specified sheet metal parts withinvery closetolerances. Inspect parts, operatematerial transfersystemand reportdiscrepancies.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

In addition to the duties and/or responsibilities of Machine Operator I, perform the following:

  • Work Safe!

  • Basic computer operating skills.

  • Obtain blue printfrom MES.

  • Verifyitsinformation.

  • Work fromblueprints.

  • Check everytwenithpart for correctness to check part and or print.

  • Enter yield into MES and production log at their machine, 5S area.

Auto Shear:

Set dials oncontrolconsolefor automatic shears, such as number of increments, increment feed and clamp position.

Twelve Foot Shear:

Perform calculations todeterminethe blade position. Set back gauge position and material feed clamps on manual shear. Make necessary adjustments.Feed part intomachine. Run two machines simultaneously asrequired. Inspect parts to drawings or set-up person’s first specification piece, every 20 pieces. Record productionin MES and on theproductionlogincluding machine downtime.Maintainmachine,equipmentand an orderly work area, 5S area.

REQUIREMENTS:

Arm strength and coordination required for use of brazing and other hand held tools. Repetitive motion of hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders. Rotating of upper body to lift and position parts on coils or brazing line. Continuous visual and some close mental attention to details involved in assembling sub-assembly or complete coil to blueprint specifications.
