Corewell Health in Grand Rapids is seeking a supplies/stocking associate to perform inventory, stocking, receiving and delivery duties for an assigned area. You will use a handheld computer to manage inventory and ensure supplies are available for patient care.
The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, familiarity with supply chain tasks, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs. Training provided; position is full-time, day shift at the Consolidated Service Center West.
Performs a variety of duties involved in equipment, materials, linens and supplies for an assigned area. Tasks may include inventory, inventory selection, stocking, receiving, delivering and other similar functions to ensure supplies and materials are readily available at various locations. Utilizes computer based inventory management system to perform daily functions. Works closely with other team members from supply chain and staff throughout the system to provide exceptional care for our customers.
Responds to incoming requisitions received via fax, intranet, hardcopy and telephone from various customers by dispensing inventory supplies and equipment in a timely manner, or order equipment/supplies from third party vendor. Performs other duties as assigned. Maintains inventory levels of supplies, materials, equipment and/or linens. Rotates stock, cleans and straightens up products to assure a neat and orderly appearance of inventory location and work area. Uses a handheld computer or other methods to manage inventory. Transmits or inputs information to main computer system to record accurate inventory levels. Breaks down delivery carts and/or pallets and assembles order(s) to be delivered to requesting unit. Delivers products and/or equipment to requesting location following proper delivery techniques and safety guidelines (cart covers applied when needed, proper stacking and load securing). Removes soiled linen and/or products from nursing units to designated holding area following universal safety precautions (based on specific entity and location). Packs products in totes, boxes, pallets, or carts according to proper packing techniques for delivery. Labels and places delivery order(s) in assigned area for shipping or delivery for Corewell Health or third party carrier. Loads, unloads and secures heavy cargo for delivery vehicles. May require the use of a forklift or pallet jack. Places delivery carts, pallets, totes, or boxes in assigned area. Unpacks and checks delivery against purchase order. Follows up with the Purchasing department on orders without a purchase order. Reports any damaged boxes/products or discrepancies. Inputs purchase order and delivery ticket information into computer to maintain accurate records of material/supplies received and schedules for delivery. Ensures paperwork and signatures are completed and filed.
