Job summary

Resource Label Group, LLC is seeking a Material Coordinator to review ticket information and coordinate ink mixing, plate mounting, and tooling assignment on the press floor.

You will weigh and blend inks to meet job specs, follow quality controls, prepare records, test samples, and assist with press make-readies while keeping safety and housekeeping top of mind.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must cooperate well with co-workers and management.

  • Strong ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must have well-rounded math skills and ability to read a ruler.
  • Must be very detail oriented.
  • Strong knowledge in production workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Weighs and blends inks to meet job specifications for each order.
  • Follows quality control and inspection process for inks to ensure quality.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and documentation to produce press-ready inks.
  • Tests ink samples and documents results.
  • May adjust inks at press and assist with ink estimation for jobs going to press.
  • Maintains the work-off ink process by regulating use and storage.
  • Assists in the ordering process by reviewing long-term schedule to predict ink usage.
  • Reviews suitability of finished matches on press.
  • Reviews sustainability of press returns ink for recycling.
  • Ensures plate mounting for all departments is complete.
  • Responsible for pulling any required tooling for Flexo and Digital Finishing departments
  • Verify that all materials are at press prior to job run
  • Assist pressman with make-ready’s, clean and organize the shop and assist with press helper duties
  • Assist with overall press room cleanliness, sweeping, mopping and putting away supplies
  • Responsible for monitoring all needed supplies and notifying purchasing when levels drop below acceptable amounts
  • Assures that the correct type and adequate amount of material has been staged for every job
  • Must create awareness of priorities in production to know where help is needed most
  • Must have an acute sense of timing in knowing what will be needed and when
  • Maintains knowledge of safety requirement of job and equipment and familiar with material safety sheets
  • Wears all necessary safety protection when using or mixing chemicals, working on presses or operating other equipment
  • Assists in other areas of production when workload permits
  • Performs other duties as requested

Job description

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to carry ink pans from the press to cleaning sink. Pans must be washed and then returned to the press. Ink pans can weigh from 11/2 pounds to 4 pounds each. This function may occur as many as 16 times per shift.
  • Must be able to bend or squat and pick up rolls of material to waist height that are up to 16 inches wide by as much as 6,000 feet in length. Rolls can weigh as much as 150 pounds each. This function may occur as many as 20 times per shift. When lifting large rolls of material assistance is mandatory!
  • Must be able to bend or squat to clean press or equipment when necessary. This may have to be done several times throughout the shift for a period of several minutes at a time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry waste rolls of material, which may weigh up to 40 pounds. Must be able to lift and carry waste rolls of matrix, which may weigh up to 25 pounds each. Rolls may need to be carried to the dumpster, lifted over waist high and thrown into the canister. This function may occur as many 15 times per shift.
  • Must be able to lift the trashcan at your workstation, which could weigh as much as 40 pounds. Trashcans must be lifted 7 to 8 inches high to be placed on a pallet jack or two-wheeler and then taken to the dumpster. Trashcans will then have to be lifted over waist high to be emptied into the dumpster. This function may have to be done as many as 4 times per shift.
  • Must be able to stand and walk back and forth for long periods of time while operating a press or other piece of equipment. At times you will be required to stand for period in excess of two hours.

IT IS ALWAYS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EMPLOYEE TO ASK FOR HELP WHEN NEEDED TO LIFT HEAVY ITEMS THAT ARE BEYOND THEIR CAPABILITY.

Pay Range

$21.00 - $23.00/hour D.O.E.
