Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. (Mitsubishi Power) is seeking an entry-level Material Control Specialist I in Orlando.

You will handle receiving, shipping, inventory, and material handling to support customer orders and production requirements with safety and service at the forefront. The role involves forklift operation, packing, counts, and real-time SAP/SharePoint transactions, with potential CDL or FL license considerations and a focus on maintenance of safe working practices and equipment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 12 months related experience and/or training.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license or privilege by date of employment and thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Unload, unpack, and verify materials received from suppliers against packing lists.
  • Verify customer return materials (serial numbers & part numbers) against documentation.
  • Report shortages to lead and coordinate with purchasing personnel.
  • Safely package products according to work instructions and stage outbound packages.
  • Perform periodic warehouse inventory counts to validate levels.
  • Pick, pull, put-away and deliver items per transfer orders.
  • Perform real-time transactions in SAP & SharePoint.
  • Deliver mail and products to designated locations.
  • Handle miscellaneous material movements as instructed.
  • Maintain 6-S responsibilities as assigned.

Role Overview

The Material Control Specialist I position is an entry-level position that requires basic knowledge of logistic functions and begins to develop skills through Certified Training and work assignments. Responsible for the receiving, shipping, inventory, and material handling of inventory required to support Mitsubishi Power customer orders and production requirements. These functions are expected while providing the upmost safety guidelines and customer service’s high standards to our internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Safe operation of forklift, pallet jacks, and extended lifts. Completing daily Forklift Checklist to verify equipment is in proper working order. Request a Maintenance Order for any mechanical or electrical defects and removing the equipment from operation.
  • Unload, unpack, and verify materials received from suppliers against packing list and verify customer return materials (serial numbers & part numbers) against appropriate documentation. Report shortages to lead and coordinate with purchasing personnel to resolve with the vendor.
  • Safely package product according to work instructions. Stage and load outbound packages/crates as required.
  • Perform periodic warehouse inventory counts to validate inventory levels.
  • Pick, pull, put-away, and deliver items per transfer orders.
  • Perform accurate real time Transactions in SAP & SharePoint
  • Delivery mail and product to designated locations
  • Perform miscellaneous material handling activities in which may include reorganizing, repackaging, consolidation, clean up or as instructed.
  • Maintain all 6-S responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least twelve (12) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fork lift certification is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license or privilege by date of employment and thereafter and maintain it in good status.
  • Current CDL license preferred, including compliance with all DOT regulations and medical certification standards.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Working environment maybe loud. The employee may be required to adhere to Mitsubishi Power and customer safety procedures including but not limited to, the use of personal protection equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, goggles, hearing and fall protection).
  • The employee may be required to work over their scheduled 8 hour shifts and weekends based off of business needs to support our customers.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.
