Job summary

Electronic Power Design, Inc. (EPD) is seeking a Material Associate 2 to support warehouse operations, optimize material handling, and ensure availability for production schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will mentor junior staff, perform cycle counts, use ERP systems and handheld scanners, and uphold safety and 5S standards while contributing to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of warehouse or manufacturing experience.
• Experience using ERP systems and handheld scanners.
• Knowledge of inventory control and material handling processes.
• Strong organizational and mentoring abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute advanced material handling including receiving, put-away, kitting, Kanban replenishment, and shipping.
• Verify and scan incoming materials using handheld scanners and ERP systems.
• Assemble kits for production orders with BOM accuracy.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and perform cycle counts.
• Mentor Material Associate 1 team members and assist with onboarding.
• Promote adherence to SOPs and safety procedures.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Material Associate 2 to support EPD's warehouse operations through advanced material handling, inventory control, kitting, replenishment, and shipping activities. This role serves as a mentor to junior associates while helping ensure materials are available to support production schedules, inventory accuracy, and operational excellence. What You'll Do

Material Handling & Warehouse Operations

• Execute advanced material handling activities including receiving, put-away, kitting, Kanban replenishment, and shipping.
• Verify and scan incoming materials using handheld scanners and ERP systems.
• Store materials accurately and safely within designated warehouse locations.
• Assemble kits for production orders while ensuring component accuracy against Bills of Material (BOMs).
• Support replenishment activities to maintain material availability for production operations.
• Prepare materials and equipment for shipment while following established procedures.

Inventory Control & Accuracy

• Maintain inventory accuracy through proper transactions and material tracking.
• Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory discrepancy investigations.
• Utilize ERP systems to track material movements, transfers, and inventory adjustments.
• Support inventory audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Help maintain warehouse organization and accurate storage locations.

Team Support & Training

• Mentor and support Material Associate 1 team members.
• Assist with onboarding and cross-training activities.
• Provide guidance on warehouse procedures, material handling techniques, and ERP transactions.
• Promote adherence to standard operating procedures and best practices.
• Support operational flexibility through cross-functional training.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all warehouse safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.
• Participate in safety audits, inspections, and training programs.
• Report safety concerns, hazards, and operational risks promptly.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas in support of 5S initiatives.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of warehouse or manufacturing experience.
• Experience using ERP systems and handheld scanners.
• Knowledge of inventory control and material handling processes.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday while supporting warehouse operations and inventory activities.
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to lift bulky or awkwardly shaped items weighing up to 35 pounds from floor level or above shoulder height.
• Ability to safely perform team lifts for items exceeding individual lifting limits or involving ergonomic challenges such as uneven weight distribution or repetitive motion.
• Ability to work effectively in varying environmental conditions, including heat and cold exposure.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 10 certification.
• Experience with Global Shop Solutions (GSS) or similar ERP systems.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial warehouse environments.
• Familiarity with kitting, Kanban replenishment, and inventory management processes.
• Previous experience training or mentoring warehouse personnel.
