Job summary

The Structures Company in Savannah, GA is seeking a Materials and Processes Engineer for a long-term contract. You will select methods, resolve complex engineering issues, and balance technical objectives with cost and schedule.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 10 years in a related discipline or 15 years across multiple disciplines, ITAR compliance, and experience with Smarteam and Catia to review designs and generate test plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical curriculum applicable to the job.
• 10 years in a specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience.
• Experience with external suppliers and internal multi-engineering disciplines preferred.
• Experience producing EAR approved test plans and results reports.

Summary:

• Selects appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues.
• Anticipates and resolves complex issues in creative and effective ways, developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
• Balances technical product, cost, and schedule in problem solving.
• Works without appreciable direction; work is reviewed from a long-range perspective.
• Exercises latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments and makes authoritative decisions and recommendations.
• Generates and communicates technical requirements to external suppliers and internal multi-engineering disciplines including Powerplant, Environmental Control, Structures, Electrical, and Mechanical.
• Reviews proposed designs and workflows using Smarteam and Catia.
• Produces EAR approved test plans and results reports.
• Performs manufacturing liaison MRB integration and implements continuous improvement projects.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the job, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10 years in specific technical discipline or 15 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors.
• Experience credit for related advanced degrees limited to 2 years for Masters and 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
• Preferred: Materials and Processes Engineering experience generating and communicating technical requirements to external suppliers and internal multi-engineering disciplines.
• Experience with Smarteam and Catia for reviewing proposed designs and workflows.
• Experience producing EAR approved test plans and results reports.
• Demonstrated successful manufacturing liaison MRB integration and implemented continuous improvement projects.
• Knowledge of selecting materials used in pressurized and unpressurized environments.
• Knowledge of materials containing chemical substances identified in international and national environmental regulations (REACH, TSCA, EPA) is a plus.
