Job summary

Curtin Maritime is seeking skilled Mate I, II, and III to work with the Port Captain and Vessel Captain, upholding the Curtin Standard onboard and ashore. You will apply efficiency, integrity, and innovation in every task and improve vessel performance and safety.

The role covers assisting the Captain, training crew, voyage planning, and maintaining high morale among the crew, with a focus on compliance and reporting using the Vessel Management System.

Qualifications

• TWIC Card is required.
• Minimum 200 GRT, Near Coastal with Mate of Tow­ing Vessels OR 500 GRT Mate, Near Coastal with TOAR.
• CG Medical Certificate.
• MROP FCC License.
• Radar Unlimited.
• STCW Basic Training.
• Passport.
• Oceans endorsement is preferred.
• Able Seaman is preferred.
• VSO is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Captain as directed.
• Train and develop the crew in internal procedures, leading by example.
• Provide expertise in voyage planning and execution, focusing on efficiency and safety.
• Foster an environment where morale is the cornerstone to achieving success.
• Manage the crew as it relates to vessel upkeep.
• Maintain Vessel Management System, overall compliance, and reporting.
