Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) is seeking a Masters Firmware Engineering Intern/Co-op for locations including Fishkill, NY.

You will design, implement, debug, and validate embedded firmware for AMD’s discrete and embedded products across reference hardware and pre-silicon environments. You'll participate in design reviews, build documentation, and learn AGILE processes while gaining practical experience on real-world projects that impact millions of users.

Qualifications

• : Must be enrolled in a US university pursuing a Master's degree in EE/CS/CE or related field
• : Experience with firmware or BIOS development is preferred
• : Familiarity with C/C++, embedded systems, and hardware architectures
• : Comfortable with source control, debuggers, and debugging across software/firmware/hardware
• : Exposure to Linux development environments and AGILE processes
• : Basic knowledge of FPGA concepts (VHDL/Verilog) is a plus
• : Prior experience with graphics/compute pipelines is a plus
• : Familiar with tools like Perforce, JIRA, Git or equivalent
• : This role requires eligibility to work in the US and is not visa sponsored

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate embedded firmware for AMD products
• Participate in design and code reviews and project planning
• Create clear technical documentation for firmware work
• Work on reference hardware and pre-silicon environments
• Apply AGILE methodologies and standard software engineering processes
• Contribute to FPGA/HDL, firmware, and HW interactions as needed
