Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or GED with 4+ years in production die building/repair
• Ability to read blueprints, gauges, and precision instruments
• Ability to read machine controls and computer screens
• Ability to monitor machine sounds to diagnose changes

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and tool descriptions; plan operations
• Measure and lay out metal stock for machining
• Set up and operate machine tools (lathe, milling, EDM, grinder) to exact specs
• Position parts on surface plate; secure with vises, blocks, and fixtures
• Fit and assemble parts; verify dimensions with micrometers and height gauges
• Develop tool specifications from descriptions and sketches using drafting software
• Communicate with team and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate work
