Job summary

Leggett & Platt seeks a Master Technician to maintain and repair production equipment, set up machines for production runs, and perform preventive maintenance on a 11pm–7am overnight shift. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues, read drawings, and uphold safety standards to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include assembling equipment, reporting parts needs, and cross-training across departments as business needs require.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining production equipment and systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and pneumatic problems.
• Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and perform basic math.
• Knowledge of welding and metal properties.
• Familiarity with computer-based control systems training or EOJT programs.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safety and following PPE protocols.
• Overnight shift availability (11pm–7am).

Responsibilities

• Maintain product specifications and quality standards.
• Identify and fix mechanical/electrical issues on production machines.
• Set up machines for production and perform changeovers.
• Repair and maintain all production equipment and parts.
• Assemble new and overhauled equipment.
• Troubleshoot and report parts needs to prevent downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks daily/weekly/monthly.
• Monitor parts usage and optimize consumption.
• Ensure machine guards and safety procedures are in place.
• Follow instructions under general supervision and work overtime as needed.
• Cross-train in other departments as business conditions require.
