Master Tailor Job Description

Alterations Specialists of New York is looking for a Master Tailor. We are looking for a dynamic professional Master Tailor, distinguished by their charisma, technical prowess, and professional integrity. This role will include sewing on the machine, and supporting the tailor shop manager. This is a full-time role in New York.

Responsibilities

1. Demonstrate that you are meeting personal production targets.
2. Cultivate proficiency with mens, womens, and bridal alterations as well as alterations of difficult fabrics.
3. Provide guidance for specialty fittings where the work would be done by you.

Experience

1. 5-10 years of alteration tailoring experience required.

This is a mid- to late career role.

Compensation

1. Range is from $18/hour- $35/hour or Salary $55K- $80K yearly*

• Standard/Basic Tailors are between $18-$24/hour.
• Intermediate from $25-$30/hour.
• Advanced $30-$35/hour.

*This is based on skill level and classification of tailoring work.
