General Summary & Scope

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consulting on their hair care needs and recommending products and services. They deliver quality professional services focused on the guest’s total look, supporting the Experience Manager (SM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) with performance, people, and process responsibilities. A passion for beauty, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)

The Master Stylist demonstrates Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values through:

• Performance: Performing hair services, meeting sales and productivity goals, supporting marketing initiatives, and staying informed on industry trends.
• People: Developing guest relationships, serving walk-ins efficiently, collaborating with team members, and promoting loyalty programs.
• Process: Ensuring compliance with policies, safety, sanitation, and operational standards, and maintaining store cleanliness and organization.

Job Qualifications

Education: Cosmetology license required.

Experience: Prior relevant work experience required.

Skills: Proficiency in salon techniques, product sales, communication, teamwork, and client relationship building. Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays is necessary.

Working Conditions: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 10 lbs, and perform physical tasks during shifts. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for disabilities.
