General Summary & Scope

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consulting on hair care needs and recommending products and services. They deliver quality services with a focus on the guest’s overall look and support the team through performance, guest service, and process adherence. A passion for beauty, exceptional service, and product knowledge are essential.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performance

• Perform various hair services including cuts, color, styling, treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing.
• Achieve or surpass weekly sales and productivity goals, contributing to store sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrinkage targets.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance guest experience and sales.
• Support in-store events and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintain regular attendance.

People

• Develop relationships with guests through consultations and recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend training and meetings for professional growth.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
• Follow service protocols for consistent guest experiences.
• Use booking systems effectively for appointments and events.
• Communicate supply needs and maintain store standards.
• Adhere to dress code and protect company assets.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.
