GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consulting on their hair care needs, recommending products and services, and delivering quality professional services focused on the guest’s total look. They support the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager through performance, people, and process focus, requiring a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and strong product knowledge communication skills.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions)

The Master Stylist demonstrates Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values through:

Performance

• Performing hair services such as design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing.
• Achieving a weekly sales goal of $1250 through excellent guest service and contributing to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink goals.
• Conducting product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Supporting in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Staying informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintaining prompt and regular attendance.

People

• Developing guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
• Serving all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Partnering with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Building professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promoting the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app.
• Attending mandatory training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Following safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures per state guidelines.
• Adhering to service protocols for consistent guest experiences.
• Using booking and clientele systems effectively.
• Communicating supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintaining store cleanliness and operational standards.
• Following the dress code and loss prevention practices.
• Executing other operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Cosmetology license.

Experience

• Relevant prior work experience required.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
