GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver quality professional services focused on the guest’s total look, support the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager, and demonstrate a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Master Stylist champions Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values by performing the following duties:

Performance

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed weekly sales goals of $1250 and productivity targets, contributing to store sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink reduction.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintain consistent attendance.

People

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams to provide a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver exceptional service.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures per state guidelines.
• Adhere to service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
• Use booking and clientele systems effectively.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintain store cleanliness and operational standards.
• Follow the dress code.
• Follow loss prevention practices and protect company assets.
• Perform additional operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Cosmetology license

Experience: Relevant work experience required

Skills:

• Proficiency in latest salon techniques and equipment use

• Ability to build and maintain customer relationships

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The pay range is $16.66 - $22.90/hour or services pay, based on various factors. Full-time benefits include paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
