GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consulting on hair care needs and recommending products and services. They deliver quality professional services focused on the guest’s overall look and support the Experience Manager (SM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) by emphasizing performance, guest service, and adherence to operating procedures. A passion for beauty, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Master Stylist embodies Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, performing duties including:

Performance

• Performing hair services such as design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Achieving or surpassing a weekly sales goal of $1250 and meeting productivity targets through excellent guest service and contributing to store sales and guest loyalty initiatives.
• Demonstrating products to drive sales and enhance guest experience.
• Supporting in-store events, promotions, and marketing efforts to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
• Staying informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintaining consistent attendance.

People

• Building guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serving all guests promptly and efficiently.
• Collaborating with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Establishing professional relationships with peers and brand partners to ensure exceptional service.
• Promoting the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Participating in mandatory training and meetings for ongoing professional development.

Process

• Ensuring compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Following safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, adhering to state guidelines.
• Following service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
• Using booking and client management systems effectively.
• Communicating supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintaining store cleanliness and operational standards.
• Adhering to the dress code.
• Protecting assets through loss prevention practices.
• Performing additional operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Cosmetology license

Experience: Relevant prior work experience required
